Kids Inventions Made Real
Children have the best ideas because of their raw imagination and unadulterated minds so when they come up with possible inventions, Dominic Wilcox is there to listen. The British artist, designer, and inventor himself, asked 450 children and several adults to draw and submit ideas of things they would like to invent and selected a few to make into reality. Hiring local manufacturers to help him, his Inventors Project started last year in Sunderland, England where he showcased his own inventions such as the GPS-enabled leather shoes to children ages 4 to 12 and in turn, asked them to come up with possible inventions that could help their family out in their everyday lives. Of the 600 submission, he selected 60 and had makers transform the ideas into real objects. The end results were displayed at an exhibition held in a spacious vacant shop that ended last month.
