Life-Sized Sand Castle Hotels

Zand Hotel becomes the world’s first hotel created with sand complete with all the luxuries of a regular hotel like electricity, wifi, and even free breakfast. Located in the cities of Oss and Sneek in the Netherlands, the two one-bedroom sandcastles were built to coincide with the Brabant and Friesland sand sculpture festivals which draws some of the most talented sand artists from around the globe. Inspired by the ice hotels in Finland and Sweden, the reinforced walls and ceilings are covered with sand while the exterior is decorated with over 30 sand sculptures in the exterior. For those looking to book a stay will have to wait until next year’s festivals as the rooms have been booked for weeks and the hotels will close as soon as the festivals are over in late September and early October.
