Phenomenal Leaf Carvings
Iranian artist Omid Asadi found his creative medium during a typical walk at a park and his inspiration after seeing a gallery exhibition on paper cutting. At the time, he didn’t know that the large, heavy leaves he gathered at the park would become his creative outlet, but with guidance from his artist wife, Asadi has since given the leaves a second life. Devoting up to a month to the intricate process of leaf carving, he uses nothing but a magnifying glass, a scalpel and a needle to create portraits of iconic celebrities, animals, and objects that are amazingly refined in each one’s realistic detail.
