Professional Dancer Captures His Own Gravity-Defying Moves

Mickael Jou combines his two passions to produce the gravity-defying series ‘365 self-portrait project.’ Inspired by tourists taking pictures of him while performing on the streets of Paris, the professional dancer embarked on a personal journey to see what it would be like to capture his own dance moves. The self-taught photographer pored over his camera’s manual to learn the ins and outs of the device and manages to snap a picture of himself using a tripod and a remote control. Taking anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour, Jou places himself in ordinary locations like supermarkets and parks performing aerial moves that are absolutely breathtaking.
