Spinning Tops Art Installation Encourage Play

A collaboration between Mexican designers Héctor Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena brings an art installation combining play and relaxation in ‘Los Trompos‘ (The Spinning Tops). The colorful, interactive structures on the Sifly Piazza of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia encourages visitors to engage in some fun as they spin any of the 30 three-dimensional giant tops made with woven nylon by Mexican artisans. Inspired by traditional toys and the skills of the craftsmen in Mexico who creates them, the highly-engaging tops are currently planned to grace 7 other locations as a way to bring art to the public in a variety of socially interactive events and art-inspired programs.
