Turning Vintage Rackets Into Artwork

In what could be a creative way to commemorate one’s tennis achievements, adding some brightly colored flora to the racket that helped pave the way and displaying it on a wall is definitely better than stashing it in the attic never to be seen again. Vintage rackets become the canvas for embroidery artist Danielle Clough as the multi-talented artist from Cape Town upcycles the unused sports equipment into one-of-a-kind pieces of art. Clough takes the concept of the embroidery hoop and superimposes it on the taut strings of each racket offering a fresh take on a centuries-old technique of weaving.
