When Fashion and Balloons Collide
Daisy Balloon is comprised of balloon artist Rie Hosokai and art director/graphic designer Takashi Kawada. With each concept, Kawada comes up with the visual design while Hosokai makes the idea into a reality using specialized balloons. The synthesis of the pair brings the most elaborate and praise-worthy balloon sculptures gracing today’s stages and window displays. Each dress is the equivalent of high fashion design and true to haute couture, each is perceptibly stylish and skillfully made. The light-as-air creations have garnered attention worldwide and even musical artist Bjork has donned one on stage. The pair’s second book “Metamorphosis” published just last month features the dynamic duo’s creations using balloon and alternative materials.
