Canada’s Spotted Lake is One of Nature’s Wonders
One look at this lake in British Columbia, Canada and one is apt to think that the spherical anomalies must be the result of radioactive waste but in reality, the waters are exactly how Mother Nature intended it to be. Located near the city of Osoyoos, the Ktlil’x Spotted Lake is named after the large spots developed after hot summer days dries up most of the lake water causing the high concentration of numerous different minerals such as magnesium sulfate, calcium and sodium sulphates among others to pool together. The puddles are tinted white, pale yellow, green or blue depending on the composition of minerals left after evaporation while the large concentration of magnesium sulfate crystallizes to form hardened barriers around the mineral puddles.
