Rubber Bands vs Watermelon

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? We have no idea. That damn studious owl eats the whole thing after three licks. What we do know is that it takes the force of around 500 rubber bands to apply enough pressure on a watermelon to make it explode.
